Humanitarian AidLesbosRefugees
For over two years refugees have poured into Europe seeking safety, an escape from war, seeking a normal life. When this flow of humanity began, I looked on it with despair. I had to do something. I became a humanitarian volunteer with the Salaam Cultural Museum, a non-profit government agency based in Seattle, Washington. In April 2016, I traveled to Greece for a week to help Syrian refugees. After my journey, refugees not only became my friends, but my family. My life was changed forever because of the stories of refugees.
