SCM has received an urgent request to provide water to internally displaced Syrians in northwest Syria. Subsidies for water in the camps have been discontinued, leaving thousands without access to clean drinking water. Additionally, halted sanitation projects are raising the risk of disease and a potential humanitarian disaster.

Without subsidies, the cost of water has become prohibitive for many displaced families, especially during the peak of summer. The severity of this situation cannot be overstated. Access to water has been a persistent challenge in the region, exacerbated by conflicts. The people of Gaza have suffered from water shortages, and now the people of northwestern Syria are enduring similar hardships. They have already faced a devastating earthquake last year and over a decade of civil war.

Nearly half of the residents in the camps are children, who, along with the elderly, are particularly vulnerable to dehydration and the adverse effects of water shortages, including disease.

Support SCM in delivering water to these camps to help the people survive the scorching summer. They need clean water now!
