Jumana is a member of our Jordan team and has been instrumental in coordinating food distributions, managing the warehouse and coordinating with our volunteers there to conduct distributions of goods like clothing, blankets, solar lanterns and more. Jumana has also worked in our Seattle office helping to coordinate activities there, working with volunteers and organizing donations.
Brenda Pierce is the Executive Assistant to Rita Zawaideh. Brenda has worked at SCM for 20 years and has participated in medical and humanitarian missions, coordinated donation drives, kept track of financial activities, marketing and more. Brenda is a graduate of the University of Washington with a B.A. in International Studies with a focus on the Middle East.
In her work with SCM, Brenda has traveled to Jordan and Greece. She also works for SCM’s sister company, Caravan-Serai Tours, where she has had the opportunity to travel to Lebanon, Syria (before the civil war), Jordan, Iran, Saudi Arabia, Oman, UAE, Egypt, Tunisia, Morocco, Azerbaijan, Georgia, and Armenia.
Basel Sawalha is our Regional Manager for the Middle East. He runs our office in Madaba and oversees the warehouse activities. Basel is instrumental in coordinating distributions in Jordan and he assists our team of volunteers in Lebanon.
Basel works with government entities and other non-profit organizations to maximize our reach and impact.
