Gaza Humanitarian Relief Project

SCM Medical Missions has been actively engaged in delivering critical humanitarian aid to Gaza, responding to the escalating crisis with compassion, urgency, and resilience. The Gaza Humanitarian Relief Project is a multifaceted initiative aimed at alleviating suffering and restoring dignity to families affected by conflict and displacement.

Project Overview

Since early 2024, SCM has mobilized resources and volunteers to provide:

Medical Aid: Including mobility devices (wheelchairs, walkers), medical supplies, and support for local clinics.
Food Security: Emergency food distributions, including baby formula and canned goods, especially for infants and children suffering from malnutrition.
Water Access: Refurbishment of water tanks to ensure clean water delivery, as new tanks are prohibited from entering Gaza.
Sanitation Facilities: Construction of toilet facilities using recycled materials from destroyed homes.
Children’s Support: Distribution of Eid gifts, coordination of art and play activities, and creation of the SCM 2025 calendar featuring children’s artwork from Gaza.
Financial Assistance: Direct aid to families living in tents or who have lost their livelihoods.
Gaza Kitchen Initiative: Establishment of a community kitchen to provide hot meals to displaced residents.

Logistics and Challenges

A major milestone was the shipment of a container from Seattle in March 2025, packed with essential supplies. After months of delays due to global shipping disruptions, the container arrived in Amman, Jordan, and is now en route to Gaza. SCM continues to face logistical hurdles, including new regulations requiring only new wheelchairs, and the need for expedited border approvals.
Community Engagement

SCM has hosted fundraisers, coordinated donation drives, and maintained transparency through regular blog updates. Volunteers and donors have played a vital role in sustaining the mission, with ongoing calls for support to fill future containers and fund emergency aid.

Impact

Despite the dire conditions—including famine, lack of medical infrastructure, and violence—SCM’s efforts have reached thousands of individuals. Their work is a testament to the power of grassroots humanitarianism and international solidarity.
