SCM is busy in Lebanon! Our representative, Mr. Ali Osseiran, left Seattle on December 21 with suitcases full of your donated medications and other supplies for the clinic. The medications will be dispensed through the clinic when they begin to see patients at the end of this month.
We already have 2 dental suites and we are in the process of finishing the plumbing and other required set up before we can finish moving everything in and stocking the cabinets. Some furniture for the reception and offices has been moved in, with the rest just waiting in the wings until painting and other renovations are complete.
Ali also coordinated a food distribution that took place at the clinic last week. Food staples such as rice, oil, tea, pasta and more were handed out to refugee families. With the price of food and other necessities making it very difficult for many people to get enough to feed their families, these food distributions are very important.
We really need your help to maintain this new clinic and continue providing these services to the refugees and people of Lebanon. The clinic will serve refugee families as well as low income Lebanese families alike.
And if you are traveling to Lebanon, please consider taking an extra suitcase that we will give you filled with additional supplies. One of our in-country volunteers will meet you at the airport and take the bag to our clinic so you don't have to worry about delivering it.
